Artist Ji Fan’s work revolves around the oft-overlooked domain of the domestic sphere, subtle imprints of nature, and the narratives of micro-histories. Employing the unique textural qualities of ceramic materials, she establish unconscious connections between her work and the audience, guiding them through a journey of exploration and revelation.
Ji Fan’s creative process deeply engages with materials, whether they are clay, metal, or found objects. The tactile quality of ceramics, in particular, conveys a sense of intimacy and immediacy, inviting the viewer to engage with the work on a sensory level. This enhanced sensory experience immerses the audience in a more compelling context, allowing them to physically interact with and envision a possible future.
