Shang Yang

About the Artist:

Shang Yang graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts with a Master’s Degree in Oil Painting in 1981. Shang Yang’s works use traditional canvases and oils, and at the same time use images obtained through digital technology to form combinations of images. In the process of his artistic creation, he connects ancient images with contemporary visual images, as well as traditional techniques with contemporary ‘antitechniques’. It is in this hybrid language that Shang Yang creates a visual landscape that transcends the visible.
