In the second season of the biennale’s Food Theater, “EAT ART·Encounter”, over 30 contemporary artists from China and abroad have been invited to collaborate on an open narrative project of a hybrid domain where encounters continuously occur. By merging art with technology, performance with experience, and cuisine with artwork, the exhibition creates a localized, immersive artistic experimentation scene. In this realm, the encounter between taste buds and sharp minds, delicious flavors and beauty, reality and virtuality, physicality and spirituality unfolds.
For the Food Theater, this marks an evolution towards new media art; for digital art, it signifies a low-altitude flight closer to people’s basic needs and real desires. With “eating” as the connecting thread, it directly creates an artistic scene of human eating behaviors, incorporating multi-sensory experiences and insights of the present and future. The audience initiates a series of beautiful encounters through art and cuisine as a medium.
