Gravitation is the inaugural exhibition of Zhi Art Space (Hong Kong), as well as part of the third East Lake International Ecological Sculpture Biennale. Artists Chu Tat Shing and Fu Zhongwang are invited to interpret the concept “gravitation”. The two Wuhan-born artists were once teachers and students, and later became colleagues. Forty years ago, Chu Tat Shing left for Hong Kong, where he started from scratch and made outstanding artistic achievements. His student, Fu Zhongwang, has lived up his teacher’s expectations and is now a leading figure in the Chinese sculpture art field.

After four decades, the two joined forces to present Gravitation at Zhi Art Space, making this exhibition a great story linking history and reality, and the friendship between the artists. As a highlight artwork of the exhibition, “Home” represents our vision of Hong Kong as a new home, and our ambition to make an innovative voice towards the globe for local contemporary art.
